...and so, we left for vienna...

while the rest of us were fast asleep in the train, paul and gerald couldn't help entertaining themselves with the magic tool, the camera. the journey was three hours long from salzburg to vienna so excuse their state of mind. hehee

after checking into our super canggih nice and comfortable hostels, we went for dinner at this cozy place where the entire restaurant was run by a lady, alone. she was the cook, hostess, waitress and dish washer (we assumed) all in one. and so we had to wait an hour before our food finally came. by then we were starving like crazy, i swear i could have ate a cow. but the food was fantastic so that made up for it :)

the day before, at the nunnery, the guys somehow managed to take this super cool shot of themselves. they were so proud of it, they couldnt stop bragging about their "album cover" picture. (according to them, it looks like a picture from an album cover). okay, as much as i'd hate to admit, it was a good picture. but obviously, us girls couldnt lose to them, not after they went on about their album cover nonstop for a day.

so that night, when we were at the bar at wombats, we just had try on an album cover picture. but ... i think we ended up laughing so hard, all our pictures turned out to be funny pictures, instead of cool ones. fail lah fail lah! haha

finally, we stopped laughing and managed to keep a straight face for two seconds. but still... haha i can't help but laugh everytime i look at this picture. isn't it obvious how hard we're trying to keep a straight face? hahaha. the guys didn't stop bragging about their album cover picture.

on the second day in vienna, we went to the st stephen's cathedral, one of vienna's most famous sights. it's the best cathedral i've seen ever. it's huge, and has really impressive gothic features. cantik!

we took a tour up the tower for 4 euros and managed to see vienna from above. and it was freezing cold!! we were jumping around to keep ourselves warm as we wanted to make the most out of our 4 euros.

ping, paul and joey pulling off the supermodel look in the third picture. haha and again in the last picture.

gerald has a serious problem with names. not only does he get all our names mixed up, he even made a few new ones for us. paul is now also known as pablo, and peter. (not forgetting albert) by the end of the week, we all started getting each others name mixed up too, thanks to gerald's strong influence.

that bell thingy reminds me of the hunchback of notre dame.

the hofburg imerial palace, which has housed some of the most powerful people in austrian history, and currently serves as the official residence of the president of austria.

we were walking towards the st stephan's cathedral when we stumbled upon that parthenon look alike.

the schonbrunn palace, one of the most important cultural monuments in austria. we weren't allowed to take any pictures inside the palace, but paul and i did some mission impossible stunt and managed to snap a few. the palace was beautiful! i loved how the interior was inside. they had dining rooms, bedrooms, study rooms, ballrooms etc etc. we spent about 45 minutes touring around about 30 rooms but the entire palace had 1441 rooms!

the garden was supposed to be magnificant, where there's supposed to be a privy garden, maze, gloriette, paln house etc etc but because we went there in winter, everything was practically dead. the maze was a see-through maze, the garden had branches instead of flowers and the trees were all withering and dying. so, visit during spring and then you'll get a royal tour around the garden.

the schonbrunn palace paul and jer claimed they'll own one day. one fine day

at night, we went to the state opera house to catch an austrian opera. err, honestly i don't know wtf happened throughout the show as they spoke in german and errr, opera singers sing funny. at some point, i fell asleep for quite some time until i was awakened by the audience applauding because apparently, the show was brilliant.

after the opera, we went to jazzland for some jazzy music. they were really good, especially the pianist. and the guy on the drums were pretty awesome as well. jer was in his own world, it was heaven for him. and i made my pair of gloves look like a flower.

the next day, we got up at the ungodly hour 8am and hurried to the spanish riding school which turned out to be quite a dissapointment since all they did was ride the horse in circles for two hours. jer, paul and i found our own entertainment watching the guy "mr aw" who comes in to clean horse dung

there was this tiny farm nearby where they had sheep and goats and pigs. i never knew pigs had fur. but awww, they were so cuteee!! gerald fed them muffins and they were just so adorable!

ping, me, joey, gerald, jer and paul.

without ping the 'ketua rombongan yang terhebat', the austria trip wouldnt have happened. without joey the 'shower coordinator', nobody would have gone to the shower in proper order. without gerald the 'german-english translator', we might have ate wierd food not knowing what they were in german. without jer, paul and i wouldnt have been there and without paul the 'camera man' , none of these pictures would have existed.

but without me the 'royal door opener', we wouldnt be able to get out from the tube. haha right?

gerald and jer has some.. issues.
we invaded the playground and kicked the kids away. whee!!

on the last night, we went to the haus der musik which is some sorta music musuem. it was pretty interesting actually. but not so much of a value for money. i met (a fake) mozart and joey conducted an orchestra.

and we went back to that cozy restaurant with the one-man-show lady for our last meal together in austria. the next day, we hopped onto a train back to salzburg, and then took a bus to the airport, a plane back to london, got stuck at the airport for 3 hours in the middle of the night, took a coach back to central london and then a cab back home. it was exhausting.

but the trip was an awesome one. thank you ping for planning everything. and everyone else played an important part in their own ways so we made a pretty handy group. of course, my role was the most significant one: the royal door opener. hahaha
